In the Reach for the Rainbow presentation, students help build the healthy eating rainbow based on Canada's Food Guide. During the presentation we look at healthy choices from all four food groups. Healthy eating messages are reinforced with a class activity. The importance of dairy foods for strong bones and teeth is discussed throughout the presentation. Prevention of osteoporosis is emphasized in Grades 5 and 6. Basic nutrients for all food groups are discussed. The presentation is based on curriculum outcomes for grades 3 to 6.

We also have the Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Toolkit, which can be borrowed for use with Grade 7-12 classes.
