Milk is one of the best sources of Calcium around and Vitamin D helps our bodies and bones absorb calcium.

When the sun is on our skin our bodies are like little manufacturing plants making Vitamin D! However, in the winter we bundle up to stay warm and in the summer we need to use sunscreen to protect our skin. So we have to get Vitamin D from the foods we eat.  If we don’t get enough Vitamin D then a lot of the calcium we get when we drink milk is not being used efficiently. Few foods are naturally high in Vitamin D, but fortunately Vitamin D is added to processed milk. So when you are drinking your cold delicious milk you are getting the Calcium and Vitamin D that will help you have strong healthy bones!! Calcium does more than just keep our bones healthy! Check out our Calcium page to learn more about what this important mineral does for our bodies.
