Rooting For Health
Hundreds of students across the province were "Rooting for Health" on March 15th and 16th, in celebration of nutrition month during a special breakfast served by their Kids Eat Smart Clubs. The School Milk Foundation teamed up with Kids Eat Smart Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador and the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture for breakfasts including locally produced blueberries, raspberries, School Milk, eggs and visits from local farmer. Students even got the opportunity to plant seeds in their own individual pots to try their hand at farming and growing healthy vegetables. Click here to go to the Kids Eat Smart website and learn more about Rooting For Health!

World School Milk Day Poster Winner
Each September schools around the world celebrate World School Milk Day! Last year in Canada students were asked to show their creativity by submitting photographs, poetry, posters or other artwork to the National World School Milk Day Contest. One entry from each province was chosen to be incorporated into the 2010 World School Milk Day Poster.
Congratulations to Emily Harris, a grade 6 student from Matthew Elementary in Bonavista for having her entry chosen to represent Newfoundland in the National contest.
